The Bulgarian National Radio is for yet another year named the most trusted media in Bulgaria, according to a report by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University

The largest share of Bulgarians - 64% trust the news of the Bulgarian National Radio. Next in the ranking come the Bulgarian National Television - 62%, Darik Radio - 56% and Nova TV - 56%.

Only 15% of Bulgarians believe that the media are free and independent of business or politics.
"The economic fragility of the sector explains the desire of media owners to be close to power. The result is that they provide the new government with virtually unlimited airtime and appear to act in some cases as government communication platforms,” the analysis reads.
