President Rumen Radev urged the political parties to engage in a dialogue in order for the state to be functional again. At the beginning of the consultations on handing an exploratory mandate after the resignation of Petkov cabinet, he pointed out that along with the economic, social, health and refugee crises, Bulgaria is facing a political crisis and the citizens' tomorrow depends on the decision of politicians and institutions.

The Head of State pointed out that among the urgent tasks are the budget update and the adoption of legislative changes to launch the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The GERB-UDF coalition made it clear during the consultations with the President that if We Continue the Change failed to form a cabinet, then GERB-UDF would also return the mandate "as soon as possible". "There is no potential for forming a coalition of principle in this parliament," GERB Deputy Chairman Tomislav Donchev said.
