European directive on duty-free imports from Ukraine could lead to replacement of Bulgarian products from the market. The price of Bulgarian agricultural produce has drastically risen because of higher prices of fuel and fertilizers. According to representatives of branch organizations, this would have a negative impact on large grain producers and would lead to bankruptcies of smaller farms.

This year, areas in Dobrich district sown to wheat are about 130,000 hectares and the expected average yields are 550-600 kg per decare. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2021 Bulgaria ranks 11th in the world in wheat exports.
