The majority of Bulgarians support an alliance with NATO and the EU: Alpha Research survey

39% of Bulgarians say that Bulgaria should be in alliance with NATO and the European Union, data of a national survey conducted by Alpha Research show. The study is looking for an answer to the question of where respondents see Bulgaria if we live in a world of new division in Europe, similar to that of the Cold War. 23% of the respondents support an alliance with Russia. 7% of the polled chose another option. 31% of the respondents were undecided.

Proponents of an alliance with NATO and the EU make up the largest share of respondents in all age groups. 96% of the supporters of “Democratic Bulgaria” are in favor of an alliance with NATO and the EU. 68% of the supporters of “We Continue the Change” are for an alliance with NATO and the EU. 65% of the supporters of “There is Such a People” party and 58% of GERB’s supporters are in favor of an alliance with NATO and the European Union.

56% of the supporters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) point to the answer “In alliance with Russia, Belarus, etc. 49% of the supporters of “Vazrazhdane” party are for an alliance with Russia. 48% of the supporters of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms are undecided.
