Today, President Rumen Radev is to hand a mandate for the formation of a government within the current parliament to the candidate for prime minister nominated by the second biggest parliamentary group in the 47th National Assembly, that of GERB-SDS.
GERB has stated in advance that they will return the mandate immediately without making any attempt to form a cabinet. President Radev stated that if GERB returns the mandate, he would organize a second round of consultations with the parliamentary formations to find out what formula they are proposing for finding a way out of the crisis and what their attitudes are to forming coalitions.
