The U.S. State Department has called for a dialogue on forming a new Bulgarian government. State Department spokesperson Ned Price commented the political situation in Bulgaria for the BNR. He said that "forming a government is obviously a domestic political issue, but we are always in favor of dialogue".

He pointed out that "in the coming months Bulgaria will have to continue to deal with a number of challenges that are becoming increasingly more serious because of the war in Ukraine."

Ned Price listed the areas that are also on Washington's radar: the legislative framework for the EU Recovery and Sustainability Plan, Bulgaria’s plans to join the Eurozone, modernization of the armed forces of the country, energy security and further strengthening of the rule of law in Bulgaria.
