Bulgaria’s Chief State Health Inspector Associate Professor Angel Kunchev will propose reducing the mandatory Covid-19 quarantine period to 5 days. "We can talk about 7 days and 5 days," Angel Kunchev said for "24 chassa" newspaper. According to Angel Kunchev, it is clear that two-thirds of the incidence is "invisible" and does not fall within the scope of the registers. That is why isolation is not effective. In his words, if a person feels well, he can take measures - wear a mask or keep a distance, without staying at home. "The virus is not what it was in the early 2020s", Angel Kunchev said further.

Currently, people with an established coronavirus infection are subject to a 10-day quarantine. Close contact persons of a proven case of coronavirus infection are subject to seven-day quarantine from the date of their last contact.
