Locals and visitors from will flock to the border village of Gyueshevo for the traditional Haidouk evening, dedicated to Rumena Voyvoda and  Illinden (St. Elijah's day), old style.

According to historical research, Rumena Voyvoda was born in the village in 1829 and acted with her troops during the years of Ottoman rule in this region. The festival, which goes on with a concert programme and folk merrymaking in the village centre, is expected to bring together people from all over the country. Years ago, Gyueshevo also did a reenactment of the welcoming of the legendary Rumena Voyvoda and her troops, but this year there will be a pilgrimage and wreath-laying at the Voyvoda's memorial plaque, unveiled in 2019 in the courtyard of the local community centre.
