Probe into Balkan Stream gas pipeline finds serious violations

The probe into the Balkan Stream gas pipeline, ordered by former Premier Kiril Petkov, has established serious violations, the Council of Ministers reported on Tuesday.

The results of the check show violations in environmental and labor legislation, the awarding and conducting of public procurements, financing of activities, etc. The Ministry of Interior, the State Agency for National Security and the Ministry of Environment and Water were alerted.

Former Minister of Energy and GERB MP Temenuzhka Petkova said, at an extraordinary briefing, that the project was implemented in full compliance with the EU rules and Bulgaria’s legislation. “Unlike this government, (i,e, that of Kiril Petkov), we have never signed unfavorable contracts and documents”, Temenuzhka Petkova said.
