The caretaker government is putting the gas interconnector with Greece at risk (IGGB), former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov wrote in a Facebook post in his first comments after the inauguration of the caretaker government.

According to Petkov, a ruling by the new energy minister Rosen Hristov on Wednesday cancelled the decision to "approve the appointment of the Supervisory Board of the ICGB". Thus, in the words of the former prime minister, the company will not meet the requirements to change its corporate structure in line with the Independent Transmission Operator model. This creates a risk of a delay from the deadline set by the regulators, which in turn will lead to a postponement of the drastic reduction in the price of gas from Azerbaijan, Petkov wrote.
