The government is to resume the negotiations with Azerbaijan on increasing the gas deliveries to this country, caretaker Energy Minister Rossen Hristov has announced.

“They have reserves, the question again is of the price. We have not negotiated additional amounts, so that, as of Monday, we are starting negotiations,” Minister Hristov said. In his words, the ministry will continue looking for amounts of gas to meet the needs throughout the entire winter period. The efforts will be focused on concluding mid-term agreements to ensure regular supplies of pipeline gas at competitive prices. “At the moment, the amounts are not what is worrying so much – we have offers for the delivery of gas – what is most worrying is the market tendency of a constant rise in prices,” Rossen Hristov said.
