GERB leader says former government heads were sabotaging their own contracts for American gas

GERB leader Boyko Borisov accused former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and former Deputy Prime Minister Assen Vasilev of sabotaging the supply of American liquefied natural gas to the country.

At the end of his rule, Kiril Petkov was able to negotiate the delivery of seven ships with liquefied natural gas for each month from October to the end of April 2023 at a price at least $20 lower than that on European markets. According to Boyko Borisov, the "Petkov" cabinet did not sign the contract with the American company and did not reserve a delivery point for unloading the tankers.

Boyko Borisov expressed his satisfaction with the declaration of "Democratic Bulgaria", against the return of "Gazprom" as a supplier of gas to Bulgaria. However, he insisted that the oil company "Lukoil" be included in the list.
