"Back in April, we foresaw the looming gas supply crisis and we stated our position, which we still maintain today - negotiations with Gazprom must be restored to ensure stability, security and predictability for the economy and the people."
This was announced in a statement by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) after Democratic Bulgaria and GERB made statements on the situation.
BSP pointed out that they are in favor of the diversification of natural gas supplies, but at this stage this strategy is not providing the necessary quantities and is too expensive. "We are concerned about the 28 thousand Bulgarian companies that use gas, about their 250 thousand workers who could lose their jobs, and about the heating companies that have to provide heat for the households in the winter," the party's position said.
