17-year-old pilot Mack Rutherford finishes his around-the-world journey in Bulgaria

Mack Rutherford landed today at the airport near the village of Kondofrey, Radomir Municipality. The 17-year-old British-Belgian pilot started his round-the-world journey in March this year from the same place.

Rutherford broke two records - for the youngest pilot to fly around the world solo and for the youngest person to fly around the world in an ultralight aircraft. He flew across 52 countries. Mack's achievement is expected to enter the Guinness Book of Records.

Mack is the younger brother of Zara Rutherford, who in January this year broke the world record for the youngest woman to finish a solo global flight, as well as the record for the youngest person to fly around the world in an ultralight aircraft.
