Bulgaria should negotiate with Turkey on limiting migrant pressure at the border, mayors of municipalities and villages located near the Bulgaria-Turkey border said. "The migrant pressure is enormous, especially in the forest areas in the evening hours," Rayko Georgiev, mayor of the village of Bogdanovo, told the BNR’s correspondent in Burgas Daniela Kostadinova.

According to Maria Markova, head of the District Prosecutor's Office in Burgas, the refugee wave has peaked in the last three months. In her words, 43 migrant smugglers have been detained during this period in Burgas region.
