300 military personnel will strengthen the security of the Bulgarian-Turkish border

Bulgaria's ground arme forces are sending 300 military personnel to join the guarding of the Bulgarian-Turkish border. The reason is the increased migration pressure and the upcoming elections in Bulgaria in October.

The additional aid was agreed between the military and interior ministries after a bus carrying illegal migrants ran over a police car in Burgas, killing two law enforcement officers.
The new military personnel at the border will be provided with transport equipment with increased cross-country ability. Unmanned aerial vehicles will also participate in the security.
