Bulgarian border police detains 1,000 migrants a day

About 1,000 migrants are detained in Bulgaria every day, mainly coming from Afghanistan and Syria, Deputy Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Stanimir Stanev told Nova TV. 

According to him, they are extremely mobile and well organized, and their guides know the terrain well. "The migrants are very inventive - they not only enter through the portals and by cutting the net, but also use aluminum ladders and fallen trees," said the deputy general secretary. 
Regarding the information that Ministry of Internal Affairs officials are protecting migrants, he commented: "There are such signals. We are working with all structures and services and you will be informed of the results soon.” 
Stanimir Stanev also said that serious checks are being carried out in the refugee centers and three people have been detained.
