In August, at the request of the prosecutor's office in the Danube city of Ruse, 43 foreigners were placed in custody. Only four of them (three men and one woman) presented identity documents that proved that they are Turkish citizens. The men are drivers of trucks in which a varying number of foreigners have been found. The woman was riding in a car and initially showed a fake Bulgarian identity card to the border services, and during the subsequent search, her real document was also discovered.

Of the remaining 39 detained foreign citizens, 12 said they were from Syria, two - from Morocco, one - from Palestine and 24 - from Iraq. None of them had any identification. They are accused of trying to leave Bulgaria through the border crossing at Ruse without the necessary permission.
