After the signing of the Craiova Treaty with Romania on September 7, 82 years ago, the territory of Southern Dobrudzha was returned to Bulgaria. Despite the Second World War raging in 1940, through a peaceful revision of the border on September 7, Bulgaria increased its territory by another 7,696 sq. km to 110,994 sq. km. The borders of the country remain unchanged to this day.

The anniversary is solemnly celebrated in Silistra, Tutrakan, Balchik and Dobrich with numerous festive events.

Simultaneously with the return of Dobrudzha on September 7, the 106th anniversary of the Dobrichta epic battles is also marked. In 1916, in the First World War, the Bulgarian army pushed back numerous Russian, Romanian and Serbian units advancing towards Dobrich.
