The British Embassy in Sofia has opened a book of condolence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. Concerned citizens may leave a message at the residence on Vasil Levski Blvd today until 17,00 and from Monday to Wednesday between 10,00 and 16,00.
Earlier, the flags of the UK, Bulgaria and the European Union in front of the embassy were flown at half-mast. People left flowers by the embassy. "For me, the Queen was the epitome of nobility and greatness. Bulgaria would be very lucky to have such politicians," said Sofia Chobanova. And Ilia Iliev said he had watched the Queen's conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and stressed that Elizabeth II was a unifying figure for people around the world.
