The new gas pipeline connecting Bulgaria with Greece is expected to be ready next week and to receive a permit for operation, Bulgaria's caretaker Regional Minister Ivan Shishkov announced during a visit to inspect the interconnector facility.
"This week we expect to complete the all required documents. I expect today to see the completion of the first stage of construction of the site, which will allow it to be put into operation," Shishkov said. The purpose of the next inspection is to find out if everything has been completed, since the last deadline for completion, which was promised by the builder, is September 12. A 72-hour test of the gas pipeline is expected, the minister added.
