The agreed mechanism for the implementation of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation with the Republic of North Macedonia must lead to sustainable results in bilateral relations, which will become a solid basis for supporting the European perspective of Bulgaria's southwestern neighbor. This was stated by President Rumen Radev at a working meeting with Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov and representatives of his team.

The general position was that the inclusion of the Bulgarians in the RSM in the country's Constitution is an important step in the context of starting the negotiations for membership in the European Union.
