European Council President Charles Michel has called for Russia to be stripped of its membership in the UN Security Council because of the war in Ukraine. “… When a permanent member of the Security Council unleashes an unprovoked and unjustifiable war, condemned by the General Assembly, his suspension from the Security Council should be automatic,” Charles Michel said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also called for Russia to be deprived of the right of veto at the UN.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on the creation of military administrations in the occupied towns and villages in Luhansk and Kherson regions, so that they remain under Ukrainian administration despite the illegitimate so-called referendums Russia is holding there. In his nightly video address, President Zelensky urged Ukrainians in the occupied territories to “hide from the Russian mobilization by any means. Avoid conscription letters. Try to get to the free territory of Ukraine. But if you already get into the Russian army, then sabotage any activity of the enemy, hinder any Russian operations,” President Zelensky said.

Armed Russian occupiers have started going house-to-house to collect votes at gunpoint in the sham referendums, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army wrote on Facebook.

Ukraine has stripped the Iranian ambassador of his accreditation and has reduced the number of diplomats at the Iranian embassy in Kyiv dramatically over Iran’s drone deliveries to Russia.

Ukraine’s Operational Command South reports that on 23 September a Russian drone dropped a K-51 grenade with chlorine gas during fighting near Kherson. Army medics undertook urgent action and there are no casualties, UNIAN reports.
