Ministry of Interior has launched Police operation against vote-buying

A vote for the forthcoming snap parliamentary elections is traded for EUR 25 to 50, Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior said. The police operation against vote-buying has been carried out across the country since yesterday.

So far, the Interior Ministry has received more than 250 alerts for vote-buying practices. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted in connection with 50 alerts. 

New vote buying practices related to corporate votе, the purchase of timber and illicit usurious activities are also being observed. However, the Ministry of Interior points out that there are fewer alerts as compared to the previous parliamentary elections.
