There is no direct threat of involving Bulgaria in a military conflict

"15 countries have signed a letter of intent to create the so-called shield in the European sky - an air defense system. I signed the letter of intent, I hope the next regular government will continue this initiative". This was stated by Bulgaria's Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov in Brussels after the meeting of NATO defense ministers. The minister pointed out that Bulgaria can also participate in the production - with software or mechanics. According to him, there is no direct threat to involve Bulgaria in military conflicts. 

The topic of Bulgaria's involvement in the blowing up of the Crimean bridge was not discussed at the meeting with the ministers.

Bulgaria has confirmed its participation in the missions in Kosovo and Iraq, as well as in the ALTHEA mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
