Bulgarians should have the same rights as Europeans. In the words of interim Justice Minister Krum Zarkov, the country has complied with the recommendations of the European Commission, adopted the legislation, and followed the Recovery and Resilience Plan. "When we have met all the criteria on our side, we should not be stopped for political reasons," the justice minister told public broadcaster BNT. It is not right that Bulgaria has all the obligations of joining the European Union and its citizens do not enjoy all the rights".

Zarkov also noted that the new parliament faces big challenges related to the budget and the Recovery and Resilience Plan. These include the mediation law, the personal bankruptcy law and the law on the Anticorruption Commission (KPKONPI).

Zarkov said he hoped an important step would be made in this direction, because now the proposals come from a caretaker government that is not tied to any political party.
