In the critical months that are coming, it is necessary for EU countries to maintain their energy autonomy and have the opportunity to use their own energy resources in an optimal way in accordance to the current European requirements. This is what Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said in a video conference call with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. The conversation is part of the preparations for the upcoming EU Summit on October 20 and 21.
Before that, the European Commission is expected to propose measures to deal with the energy crisis. President Radev also said that in times of deepening economic and social instability during the upcoming heating season, it was important to guarantee energy security for citizens and businesses in the EU.
