"One of our main initiatives is to introduce the same price for private consumers for gas, electricity and heating and thus avoid switching from one type of heating to another, said caretaker Energy Minister Rossen Hristov. The proposal could come into force as early as 1 January 2023, the minister added.

As for the idea of a double tariff, the ministry proposes a subsidized price for energy consumption of up to 800 kWh in winter and 300 kWh in summer and regular prices for excess consumption. This is the usual energy consumption of 90% of domestic consumers, the minister explained.
