President Rumen Radev announced that he would hold the second round of consultations on the formation of a government on Monday, 31 October – this time with We Continue the Change, having already held consultations with GERB-SDS, which holds the biggest number of seats in parliament.
Rumen Radev added that the date on which he would hand over the first mandate (to GERB-SDS – editorial note) for the formation of a government would depend on how the consultations will go.
“It is important that there is a clear understanding by the political parties themselves that what is needed is dialogue, constructive dialogue. Compromises need to be made, and clear shared objectives outlined for the sake of Bulgaria’s future. As you can see for yourselves, the cycle of election after election is not the best solution,” the President said.
