Tunisia is hosting the XVIII Francophonie Summit on 19 and 20 November, where Bulgaria is represented by Vice President Iliana Iotova and Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov.

The theme of the forum, which takes place on the island of Djerba, is "Connectivity in diversity: the digital vector of development and solidarity in the Francophone space". Iliana Iotova will take part in discussions on "Citizens' mistrust" and "Women and young people - Francophonie's priority objectives".

Bulgaria has been a member of the International Organisation of La Francophonie for 31 years. During this time, the ESFAM Higher Francophone School of Administration and Management, where students receive postgraduate training in French, and the IOF - Francophone Regional Centre for Central and Eastern Europe, which organises dozens of training courses and seminars every year, have opened their doors in Sofia.
