By 2050 Bulgaria's population expected to melt by 25 percent: UN forecast

Bulgaria is among the five countries in Europe whose population by 2050 will decrease by more than 20%, writes the British edition The Guardian, referring to a publication in the Population sector of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. 
The other countries in this list are Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Serbia. 

At the same time, Bulgaria is placed at the head of the group, with the forecast chart showing that the Bulgarian population will melt by 24.7%, Ukraine by 24.5%, Latvia by 23.5%, and for Lithuania and Serbia the figures are also above 20 %. 

Population decline is also projected in Greece and Portugal, but at lower levels: 12% and 10% respectively.
