The entire Bulgarian energy sector was given on a concession to an offshore company by the previous government of Kiril Petkov. The $1 billion MoU with Gemcorp has not been terminated. We are reporting to the National Security Agency, the Ministry of the Interior and the European Commission, deputies from GERB announced at a press conference.

"Kiril Petkov hoped to return to power and hid the report of the National Security Agency for 3 months. At a secret government meeting, it was decided to terminate the contract, but it was not terminated, the deputies claim.
GERB will demand the establishment of a temporary parliamentary committee on the case.

According to the Financial Times, the offshore company Gemcorp is backed by the Kremlin and involved with a sanctioned Russian arms manufacturer.
