There have been indications of reactor coolant leakage in a steam generator in the process of operation of Unit 6 of Kozloduy nuclear power plant. No levels exceeding the radiation safety limits were reached. The nuclear unit will be disconnected from the energy grid if radiation safety limits are reached. The amount of leakage is being constantly monitored. The current level is several times lower than the limitations,"  Kozloduy NPP said in a statement.

There has been no change in the radiation background in the working premises and at the nuclear plant site. The removal of the leak will not lead to any change in the radiation background, Kozloduy NPP also said.
