The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is one of the largest of its kind in the world, with over 35,000 exhibits. This year marks 8 decades since the beginning of a beautiful tradition there – decorating Christmas trees, as every year, their number increases. In 2020, there were 40 trees, the following year - 53, and currently - 57. The decoration was created by representatives of various ethnic communities in Chicago and for the third year in a row there is also a Bulgarian Christmas tree.
"This year our team did the work much faster and the Christmas tree is already decorated, showing the rich Bulgarian folklore and cultural heritage," Anna Maria says.
The first Bulgarian participation in a pre-Christmas celebration at the museum was by the "Horo" ensemble in 2012, when they showed the beauty of Bulgarian folk dances and national costumes to a local audience for the first time.
The exhibition with the 57 beautiful Christmas trees can be seen by all residents and guests of Chicago until January 8 next year.
