After the Bulgarian National Assembly rejected the draft cabinet with the mandate of GERB-SDS, the co-chairman of "Democratic Bulgaria" Hristo Ivanov said that his coalition was already holding talks about a cabinet with the party that would receive the second mandate - "We Continue the Change". "However, in the absence of a guaranteed coalition majority in parliament, there is no way to have a sustainable cabinet," he added.
The co-chairman of "We Continue the Change" Assen Vassilev confirmed there were ongoing talks and said that if agreement was reached, there would a proposal for a minority government. According to him, “We Continue the Change" would wait for guarantees from the parliament that bills related to judicial reforms, changes in security services and a new budget would be adopted, so that a minority cabinet could do its job even in the absence of parliamentary support.
