Fishermen from the coastal town of Burgas will again observe the tradition of celebrating St. Nicholas Day on December 19 according to the old Church calendar. In the fishing village of Chengene Skele the celebrations will begin at 11.00 am with the consecration of a local chapel. Years ago, the altar was located at the mouth of Ropotamo River. It was preserved and restored by the local fishing community.

A bronze bust-monument to the best boat builder in Burgas, Kosta Nikita, will be unveiled as well. The festive programme includes a concert, a photo exhibition and a literary reading dedicated to the life of fishermen.
