Kyiv calls for global peace summit in Ukraine

Russia used about 35 Iranian-made Shaded kamikaze drones in attacks across Ukraine early on Monday, of which 30 were destroyed, Ukraine’s Air Force said. The drones were reportedly launched from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov. 9 kamikaze drones were shot down above the capital city of Kyiv, the Kyiv City Military Administration said on Telegram, UNIAN agency reports.

A video shared on social media has shown what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was going to say in his message calling for world peace ahead of kick off at the World Cup final. Earlier, CNN reported that the International Association of Football Federations (FIFA) had rejected President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request to deliver “a message of peace” during the World Cup final in Qatar. “We offer peace formula to the world. There are no champions in war. So I announce the initiative to hold a global peace formula summit this winter to unite all nations of the world around the cause of global peace. Stadium stands get empty after the match and after the war cities remain empty. That is why wars must fail and peace is to become the champion as it is here in Qatar now.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin will make an important announcement in the new week, according to Russian state media.

“We are expecting important statements”, said Pavel Zarubin, host of the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin”, which is broadcast on state television. This will happen after Putin’s visit to Belarus on December 19 and after the annual expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry Board.
