Eurostat: Bulgaria ranks second in EU in labour costs growth

Hungary and Bulgaria are the EU countries with the largest increase in hourly wage costs in the third quarter of 2022. This is according to data from the EU statistics office Eurostat. 

Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, the highest increases in hourly wage costs were recorded in Hungary (+16.6%) and Bulgaria (+16.3%). Nominal hourly labour costs in the second quarter of 2022 was 14.6%, and in the first quarter - 12.7%.

At the same time, wages in Bulgaria for 2021 are the lowest in the European Union, according to Eurostat.
