The parliamentary groups of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and "Vazrazhdane" have referred the Parliament’s decision to send military aid to Ukraine to the Constitutional Court.

Earlier today, the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Kornelia Ninova urged President Rumen Radev to explain why he issued a decree on sending weapons to Ukraine.

“You owe society an explanation why you took the risk of involving Bulgaria in war. You betrayed left-minded people, you betrayed the socialists, who are for peace and who have made efforts to get you elected president, and Iliana Iotova vice president, in two campaigns,” she said at a briefing in parliament. The BSP said that it would refer the matter to the Constitutional Court. It extended an invitation to Vazrazhdane to support it as it did not have enough signatures.

On his part, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov announced that a table would be placed in front of the room of his party’s parliamentary group, where MPs from the BSP can put their signatures to Vazrazhdane’s demand that the Constitutional Court annul the decision.
