Less than a third (31%) of Bulgarians believe that 2023 will be better than 2022, while 34% are of the opposite opinion. According to a poll by "Gallup International", 27% of Bulgarians believe that 2023 will be the same as the previous one.

Regarding the future, Bulgarians are not among the biggest optimists such as Nigeria, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, the Philippines and India, but are also outside the ranking of pessimist countries like Poland, the Czech Republic, Serbia, France and Italy. A rise in negative attitudes is also noticeable in large countries such as the United States and Russia.

Some of the happiest people are those from the Philippines, Mexico, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Ecuador, Japan and Kazakhstan. The most unhappy people are in Armenia, Kenya, Hong Kong, Argentina, Turkey and Moldova, however, the happiness index among them is still positive.

In Bulgaria, five percent of the respondents admitted that they are very happy, 38% - happy, and 11% - unhappy or very unhappy. 42 percent remain in the middle of the chart.
