“The supply of medicines in Bulgaria is being looked into, and Bulgarian manufacturers and dealers in medicines have been activated for additional production and imports due to the shortage of certain medicaments,” Minister of Health Asen Medzhidiev told reporters in Varna.
In his words the problem with medicines shortages exists on a European scale. The shortage is most serious with antibiotics, fever medication, medicines for regulating high blood pressure, antidiabetic drugs. Minister Medzhidiev promised that quantities of antibiotics will be provided as soon as next Monday, and warned that dealers will have their licenses revoked if they have been keeping back any medicines.
