Paid publications by the Russian services in Bulgarian media cost EUR 150-300, says Christo Grozev, author at Bellingcat investigative journalism group.

“Small sums lead to significant influence over the public mind in Bulgaria, and that should not be happening. Darko Todorovski is the Macedonian journalist in question, if I remember correctly. He is not actually a journalist, he is in fact a contributor who is given assignments by Russia and who makes use of his network in Bulgaria to get these articles published,” Christo Grozev said in an interview with Nova TV. Grozev added that it cannot be said there are Russian agents in Bulgaria’s parliament but that there are plenty in public life.

Christo Grozev is in Los Angeles to present the documentary about Alexei Navalny. Within days it will become clear whether the film Navalny will be nominated for an Oscar award.
