Following a decision of Bulgaria’s National Assembly, the state will be able to take control over the oil refinery in Burgas if necessary. The Minister of Economy, at the proposal of an advisory council, may temporarily appoint a special commercial manager. He will take over the management if EU provisions are infringed, there is a threat to national security, there is a risk to the supply of critical resources, or when distortion of competition occurs.

Vazrazhdane was the only party that voted against. It called the National Assembly’s decision “an anti-market nationalisation”. "There is no nationalisation, because no property is being taken away", MP Martin Dimitrov from Democratic Bulgaria” coalition said in return.
