Ministry of Defense: Bulgaria has not provided Su-25 aircraft to Ukraine

Bulgaria has never sold or provided NATO countries with Su-25 aircraft that could be later sent to Ukraine. This is what the Ministry of Defense said in response to an article by the Bloomberg agency. It quoted Dutch defense analysis website Oryx as saying that Ukraine had received 14 Su-25 aircraft purchased by NATO member states from  Bulgaria and delivered to Ukraine. However, Bloomberg specifies that the data cannot be independently confirmed.

Two years ago, Bulgaria repaired eight of its SU-25 jets, one of which was lost in a training accident. The final decision of the 48th National Assembly from December, does not include providing fighter jets and heavy equipment to Ukraine, but only small arms and ammunition. However, the topic of providing armored vehicles and anti-aircraft missile complexes was discussed during the visit of Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov to Ukraine last year. Later, the Ministry of Defense ruled out such options due to the lack of replacement equipment for the Bulgarian army.
