According to the leader of GERB Boyko Borissov, it is quite possible that a government is formed with the mandate of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, because the socialists were in coalition with all other political forces in parliament except for "Bulgarian Rise".

However, Boyko Borissov confirmed that GERB would not support a government with the mandate of BSP, referring to the decision of GERB’s congress to not form a ruling coalition with the BSP. In Boyko Borissov’s words, GERB will participate in the leadership meeting proposed by the BSP in the interest of courtesy. In his view, early elections are now a priority for the political forces.
