Russian parliament to investigate LUKoil Burgas

Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the State Duma, the Russian parliament, has asked the Committee on Security and Corruption Control and the Committee on Energy in Russian parliament to conduct an investigation into the information of fuel deliveries for Ukraine by the Bulgarian LUKoil refinery, the Russian state news agency TASS reports.

The reason is a publication by Russia’s Moskovsky Komsomolets, citing the German Die Welt that Bulgaria was secretly aiding Ukraine by sending weapons and diesel. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, it is precisely using this fuel that the Ukrainian tanks conducted their successful counteroffensive in Kherson and Izyum. At the end of December, the management of LUKoil officially stated it was not delivering any fuel to Ukraine.
