U.S. President Joe Biden said he would discuss Ukraine's latest requests for advanced weapons needed to repel Russian attacks. Speaking to reporters, the US president ruled out sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. With Russia showing no signs of slowing down its attacks, Ukrainian President Zelensky has been calling for increasingly powerful and advanced weapons. Meanwhile, it has become clear that the United States are preparing a new military aid package worth more than 2 billion USD, which is expected to include missiles, but also equipment for Patriot air defense systems and Javelin anti-tank weapons.

The head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, called on the European Union to supply his country with various weapons. He pointed out that postponement of military aid or of the tenth package of sanctions against Russia carried huge risks. "The Russians are trying to revive their empire. Ukraine is simply the stepping stone to the dominance of the continent," Yermak said, adding that support for Ukraine means support for Europe's security.

Vladimir Putin has introduced a special regime in the regions of Russia bordering Ukraine over increased risk of terrorism, BNR correspondent in Moscow reported. The decree entered into force for the first time in the spring and has been renewed every 15 days since then. It provides for thorough inspections of cars that move between the areas specified in the document. Another order from Putin has obliged the Russian foreign and military ministries to sign an agreement with Belarus in order to establish joint military combat training centers.
