Employers to challenge decision on minimum monthly wage

The decision of the National Assembly on the minimum wage will be contested before the European Commission and the International Labor Organization. This was announced in Varna by the chairman of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association, Vassil Velev. According to him, the decision of the parliament did not comply with the European directive on adequate wages. "The parliament has taken the functions of the Tripartite Council and the government. For us, the right decision is for the minimum wage to be different for different economic activities," Vasil Velev said.

We recall that with amendments to the Labor Code, the parliament adopted a decision that the monthly salary should be 50% of the average gross salary.
