The Turkish Embassy in Sofia opens a book of condolences on February 8 and 9. Through the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish diplomatic mission announced that citizens and organizations will be able to express their condolences for the thousands of victims following the devastating earthquake in the country.
The book will be located at the Turkish Ambassador's residence at 19 Tsar Osvoboditel Street in Sofia and will be available to citizens today from 2 to 4 p.m. and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m.
St. Ivan Rilski University Hospital in Sofia is prepared to admit victims of the earthquakes in Turkey, the hospital said. The health facility offers diagnostics, treatment and highly qualified care for those in need.
Ten-year-old Manol, the son of Father Peter Garena from Kardzhali, was the first to join the campaign of the District Muftiate in the regional town to raise funds for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey. The boy donated the money from his piggy bank, said Kardzhali District Mufti Basri Eminefendi. "The boy came to us before school and left the savings from his piggy bank. The night before, Manol watched the news and saw the collapsed buildings and the rescuers' attempts to pull out the stranded and told his father he also wanted to pitch in and help," the cleric said.
