Christians and Muslims in Bulgaria's Kardzhali district united in support of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey. Assistance collection points have been opened in all seven municipalities of the district and large villages. They will be transported by trucks to Edirne, from where they will be distributed to the affected areas. Common prayers in the mosque and in the church are part of the joint cause. A number of other municipalities in the country also collect donations.

A bus with clothes collected by students left early this morning for Turkey. And later today another bus will leave for Syria. This was announced by Daniel Parushev from the National Representation of Student Councils.
The volunteer Deniz Mutlu, who organized a donation campaign in Plovdiv together with Pavel Nachev, managed to drive a total of 15 buses to Edirne, loaded with aid for the victims in Turkey.

The regional medical college in Plovdiv has announced that it will donate BGN 5,000 to the victims in Turkey and Syria. "We express our most sincere sympathy to the families of the victims. We wish a speedy recovery for the injured and all the victims," the college announced.

Anyone can join the campaign through donations to the bank account of the Bulgarian Red Cross:

or via a text message (SMS) to the short number 1466 for all mobile operators.
